A day after Bihar Chairman Minister and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar met political strategist Prashant Kishor, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav slammed him, saying it would have been better if the chief minister met victims of the state’s everyday killings and kidnappings.
“Nitish Ji’s business is with whomever he meets. Mr Yadav told reporters today that it would have been better if he had met victims of everyday murders and kidnappings in Bihar, or family members of those tormented by mafias.
Following the meeting, Mr Kumar claimed that his meeting with Prashant Kishor, who was ousted from the JD-U in 2020, had any political significance.
Is my friendship with Prashant Kishor limited to today?
“The meeting has no special significance,” Mr Kumar said in response to media questions.Mr.
Kishor was kicked out of the JD-U for making “controversial remarks” that were contrary to the party’s policies. Prior to his removal from the party, he was vice-president of the JD-U and was viewed as close to Nitish Kumar.
Mr. Kishor was a member of the grand coalition that won the Bihar assembly elections in 2015.
JD-U and RJD were part of the grand alliance, however the two parties later fell out.
In the Bengal assembly elections last year, Kishor’s political consulting firm I-PAC worked with the Trinamool Congress.
