Bollywood Actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra has filed a petition in the Magistrate Court of Mumbai. In this petition, he has done to be acquitted of a case related to the making and distribution of alleged pornographic films through apps. Raj was arrested in this case in July 2021. He is out on bail now. His lawyer Prashant Patil had applied for acquittal on July 20, the details of which came on Wednesday.
The petition states that the police have not found any evidence that Raj Kundra made any monetary or other kind of profit from the alleged crime. Apart from this, the prosecution has not leveled any charges of criminal intent against him. The court has asked the prosecution to file its reply on September 8.
Let us inform that the FIR was registered against Raj Kundra and others after a woman made several serious allegations and filed a complaint. Later the case was transferred to the Mumbai Crime Branch. Raj was booked under sections 420 (cheating), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and obscene advertisements and display) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections of the Information Technology Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act. .
