According to data published on Tuesday by the Union Health Ministry, India has reported 1,68,063 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 3,58,75,790, including 4,461 instances of the Omicron variety.
The number of active cases increased to 8,21,446, the highest level in 208 days, while the death toll increased to 4,84,213 with 277 new deaths, according to figures updated at 8 a.m.
