Anurag Kashyap's pain on Boycott culture, said- 'We are going through a strange phase, SSR trend happens and others..'

Anurag Kashyap He is a great filmmaker of our country. Anurag has made a mark of Bollywood on the world stage through his films, but everyone is afraid of being boycotted these days. Filmmakers these days are thinking a hundred times before making their film on any social, political, religious issue that they should not be boycotted. Anurag, who has made great films like ‘Black Friday’, ‘Gangs of Wasepur’, is in discussion about his upcoming film ‘Do Bara’. Taapsee Pannu starrer this thriller film is going to be released on August 19.

Talking to The Indian Express, Anurag Kashyap said that ‘If I have to make films like ‘Black Friday’, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ in today’s date, then maybe I will not be able to make it, because I have seen, I have tried, I have written a lot of scripts but there is no one to take a film about politics or religion.

Talking about the fear, Anurag Kashyap said, “Its effect is everywhere. If there are no strong people supporting a strong voice, then how can one make films in this country? People are afraid, when there is no one to take up such subjects then how to make films? If you have something to say in today’s era, how will you make a film?’. Hashtags are being used on social media as a weapon against the film industry. After the death of Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020, a social and political movement began to demand justice, which is still seen doing Boycott Bollywood.

Anurag said, “Aamir Khan’s ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Raksha Bandhan’ are ready to release but some people on social media are talking about boycott. These days boycott culture dominates in the country, where hashtag anyone directly. We are living in very strange times. Even after two years, Sushant Singh Rajput trends daily. Everything has to be boycotted. This is not just an aspect, there is a trend to boycott everyone, be it a political party or a cricket team. If you are not being boycotted, it means you don’t matter.
